This in-person session aims to equip corporate legal teams with the knowledge and understanding to contribute to their organisation’s sustainability goals in their day-to-day work. It explores the intersection of legal and sustainability functions, what legal teams need to know to support integration across the business, and how both functions can collaborate to drive shared objectives.

Speakers

Charlotte Portier is the Sustainability & Due Diligence Manager at Signify, leading the company’s human rights due‐diligence process and global social impact programs. She holds a Master’s in International Human Rights Law from Maastricht University and began her career in Brussels working on EU social policy and advocacy. She later advanced sustainability reporting and policy engagement at GRI and CDP before gaining private‐sector experience at Booking Holdings. Charlotte joined Signify to lead its CSRD compliance program and now combines legal expertise with sustainability leadership to drive responsible business practices.

Pier Paolo Boselli is a Legal Counsel at Signify, specializing in export controls, sanctions compliance, and human rights. He supports the business in navigating complex regulatory environments while enabling responsible and sustainable operations. His work focuses on integrating legal risk management with human rights considerations, providing practical guidance to the business, and supporting cross-functional collaboration. Pier Paolo works closely with sustainability teams to help align legal perspectives with broader human rights objectives and international standards, bringing a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach to the partnership between legal and sustainability functions.

Bauke is corporate secretary and senior legal counsel based in Amsterdam with a focus on corporate law. He works closely with the general counsel Europe and APAC, the head of global business unit finance, the treasury department, the GRC function, and managing directors of local offices. Before CSC acquired Intertrust Group in late 2022, he was independent corporate secretary of the company, directly reporting to the CFO and with a dotted line to the chair of the supervisory board. He and his wife live in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and are the proud parents of two children.

Annelies is a Senior Manager in PwC Legal’s Corporate team with extensive corporate law experience gained in the Netherlands and abroad. She advises (supervisory) boards on directors’ duties and personal liability exposure in connection with new EU legislation and provides training to (supervisory) boards on the changing governance landscape driven by EU sustainability legislation. She has extensive experience in designing and implementing corporate governance frameworks, including board and committee structures, decision-making protocols and the formalization of (sustainability related) responsibilities in corporate documents.

Renske is a Director in PwC's Legal team and part of PwC Netherlands' multidisciplinary sustainability team. After a career as environmental lawyer in private practice and as senior public prosecutor in cross-border environmental, fraud and organized crime cases, Renske advises a wide variety of internationally operating companies across different industries on environmental and sustainability regulations, directors’ duties and liabilities and risk mitigation. She has extensive experience in dealing with new and evolving EU and national environmental regulations such as CSRD, CSDDD, the Directive on Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT) and the Product Liability Directive.

Carla Sanchez Marquez is Senior Sustainability Manager at CSC, where she manages the program for more than 30+ jurisdictions. An Argentinian-qualified lawyer with 10 years of experience in the financial sector across EMEA and LATAM, she brings a strong foundation in corporate law, governance, and sustainable finance. Carla joined CSC in the Netherlands in 2021 as Company Lawyer in the Capital Markets Services business line, and three years ago she decided to take on the challenge to co-create CSC’s sustainability program, working with internal and external stakeholders to translate strategy into measurable action.

This session will be co-moderated by Jamie Holton. She is a Senior Programme Manager at the UN Global Compact NL, supporting companies on human rights due diligence and diversity and inclusion. She also support the UN Global Compact NL board as board secretary.

This session will be moderated by Jeroen Spijker. Jeroen is Programme Manager at the UN Global Compact NL, supporting companies on climate and nature issues. He also supports the UN Global Compact NL Communication on Progress submissions.
