Join our session on embedding sustainability in the finance function
This in-person session aims to equip finance professionals with the knowledge and understanding to contribute to their organisation’s sustainability goals in their day-to-day work. It explores the intersection of finance and sustainability functions, what finance teams need to know to support integration across the business, and how both functions can collaborate to drive shared objectives.
Company presentations will be provided by Ahold Delhaize and Rabobank.

Speakers

In the last 18 years Harm-Jan held various positions within Ahold Delhaize. Next to roles in internal audit and communications he spent most of his time in the Sustainability team of the company. In 2019 he supported in embedding ESG reporting within Ahold Delhaize’s finance function. In his current role as Director ESG reporting and Investor Relations Harm-Jan Pietersen is responsible for Ahold Delhaize’s global ESG reporting and with his team prepares the sustainability statements of their annual report. He is also part of the investor relations team where he manages the relations with ESG focused investors.

Martijn Snip has been with Rabobank since 2009 and currently leads business development and sustainability for the bank’s global Project Finance team. Rabobank provides about EUR 15bn in project financings to more than 350 projects globally, most of it in the renewable energy sector. Accelerating the financing of the large investments required in new business models and technologies such as Carbon Capture & Storage, hydrogen and e-mobility is his key focus in order to support clients and the broader society “on the road to Paris”. Ensuring the energy transition is also a “just transition” makes ESG a key part of his role.

This session will be co-moderated by Jamie Holton. She is a Senior Programme Manager at the UN Global Compact NL, supporting companies on human rights due diligence and diversity and inclusion. She also support the UN Global Compact NL board as board secretary.

This session will be moderated by Jeroen Spijker. Jeroen is Programme Manager at the UN Global Compact NL, supporting companies on climate and nature issues. He also supports the UN Global Compact NL Communication on Progress submissions.
